Terminal Audits
We are guided by the Marine Terminal Management and Self Assessment (MTMSA) process, which has been developed by The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) as a standardised tool for global application to assist terminal operators in the assessment of the effectiveness of their management systems for berth operations, and the management of the ship/shore interface. The MTMSA can be used to audit a terminal to assess the risk in using a terminal and to verify the level already announced under the Terminal Operators self-assessment process.
The audit by third parties can verify that the terminals management systems are comprehensive and promote safety and environmental excellence, with the intention of minimising risk in the execution of their operations and providing the ability to measure and continuously improve their management systems.
Our Audit document is based on the OCIMF MTMSA Site Verification Guidelines (SVG). Which contains a best practice guide to Terminal Management. The audit tests and identifies gaps in key areas of Marine Terminal Operation including:
- Management leadership and accountability
- Management of personnel
- Port and harbour operations
- Terminal layout
- Ship/shore interface
- Transfer operations
- Maintenance management
- Management of change
- Incident investigation and analysis
- Management of safety, occupational health and security
- Environmental protection
- Emergency preparedness
- Management system review
The audit works on a benchmarking with four levels of achievement for each element above. It allows customers and users to ascertain the level the terminal is working to and also allows the terminal to ascertain gaps, and improve their systems to achieve a higher standard.
FPSO & FSU maritime assurance audits and inspections are conducted to Oil and Gas UK – Tandem Loading Guidelines and Offshore vessel Management (OVMSA). Offload audits can incorporate both standards or be tailored specifically to the customer audit requirements.
We will be happy to discuss your requirements further.
